This garment is part of a Living Art series of sustainable, ceremonial pieces. The flowers have been imprinted onto the fabric directly, and their essence has become a part of the fibers intended to be passed down from one generation to the next, an offering of generational healing. Our experience is that the prayers spoken within the garment, as well as the fairies that have danced along its hemlines, the bees who have loved the scent of the flowers layered onto it, and the sunbeams that have been absorbed, will be held within the vibration of the garment, surrounding and shielding the wearer with love, as well as those who come after.

Inspired by the pink orbs that often show up in photographs when the fae are close at hand, this cotton/silk voile layered mini is an expression of lightness and joy. This dress is dyed with madder root and cochineal, hand painted with subtle circular gradations in the fabric. It is hand embroidered with peonies to call in kindness to the wearer. The silk ribbon and companion wrap in the color Moss are dyed with a combination goldenrod and logwood.

Hand dyed with foraged acorns on silk/cotton voile. Acorns are rich in tannins and create abundant dye when soaked and prepared over the course of several weeks. This process is completed in-house at our studio and only a small amount are produced each season.
*We believe in mindful foraging so that an abundance of acorns remain for the beings that rely on them throughout the winter.

I noticed that others who spoke about hearing this tone would have tears in their eyes at the bone-deep connection to it. The intention was to create a dress that felt voluminous and lightweight, almost as if swimming in deep waters, to call in that frequency and serve as a reminder of the vastness of our being.
