There was a winter dream about all the dragons waking up, one that I had known long ago came to be with me. It helped digest all the remaining indigestible things that were lingering near. Things I was embarrassed to still be sad about, you know those things? And new things that felt like too much. He said he found some of it indigestible too, and it helped me understand it wasn’t deficiency in me, the sadness.

You know how horses have an energetic field around their hearts that is five times larger than ours? How we can stand next to one and we entrain to their heart, and are soothed?

This dragon was like that, it could be felt from across realms, this great love. It made half-loves so apparent it rattled the walls and disrupted everything, and it was ok, somehow, because I had my dragon again. You know how this is in dreams? Suddenly everything is ok? And when you fell asleep nothing was?

Does anyone else dream like this?

And then the next morning, still half in the dream world, and mostly wanting to stay there, I went out into the world. This fallen oak, that is still growing, just in a new form, was calling to me. I went out to sit with it, above the ice on the coldest day, and the strangest thing, its bark looked just like the scales of my dream dragon.
